KOZHIKODE: Congress leader K Muraleedharan on Sunday said that it was the CPM that defeated the BJP in Thrissur in the Lok Sabha elections. "CPM's officials added 5600 votes to BJP. Votes were added to the BJP as part of an attempt to get rid of the Karuvannur case. The CPM faced the election with MK Kannan, who is under ED investigation, as its chairman. The Chief Minister vilifies BJP on one side and helping it on the other," Muraleedharan said.

"Pinarayi Vijayan is committing mistakes after mistake. As long as his leadership is there, the CPM will not survive in Kerala," he said.

"UDF will not allow any accused to escape in TP case. This move will be countered politically and legally," he added.

Muraleedharan pointed out that the trends in which the UDF has won in Kerala whether this trend will help the party in the next assembly elections should be studied. "In 2019, Congress had won one seat more than this. But the UDF lost in the panchayat and assembly elections. After studying the success in the Lok Sabha elections, this advantage should be used in the upcoming elections," Muraleedharan pointed out.
