KOLLAM: Severe criticism against the state leadership in the CPM Kollam district committee meeting held to evaluate the results of the parliamentary elections. The criticism was that "This is not a people's verdict against grassroots activists." The activists at the grassroots level are the same ones who gave the LDF government continued rule. A district committee member from Kadakkal said that the situation change happened at the state level and that is where the correction should take place.

Like a continuation of the district secretariat held the other day, criticism was raised against EP Jayarajan and Kollam's LDF candidate M Mukesh in the district committee meeting. The candidates showed reluctance to campaign activities at several points. It was a misunderstanding of the state leadership that the candidate was popular. A member openly said that the UDF got a record majority because of the wrong choice of candidate.

A member from Chathannoor said that LDF convener EP Jayarajan has been putting the party in crisis for a year. EP Jayarajan's statement on the polling day that BJP leader Javadekar had seen him should not be dismissed lightly. EP said it to the channels without telling the party. The member also demanded that EP Jayarajan be removed from the post of LDF convener. Politburo member MA Baby, Central Committee members KN Balagopal and CS Sujatha were present. The meeting will continue today.
