One-and a-half-year-old toddler dies after TV falls on him in Muvattupuzha

KOCHI: A one-and a-half-year-old toddler died after a television set fell on him at Muvattupuzha in Ernakulam. The dead is Abdul Samad, son of Anaz of Payipra Micro Junction Poovathum Chuvattil. The accident happened Monday night at 9.30 pm.

The TV set along with the stand fell on top of him. The TV fell on him while he was playing holding the stand. The seriously injured child was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Pezhakkappilly and then to Aster Medcity.

The toddler sustained injuries on his head and neck. He suffered a heart attack at a time when all arrangements were made to conduct a surgery on him admitted in the ICU. He died Tuesday early morning.

Naziya is his mother and the toddler has three siblings. The body will be handed over to his relatives after post-mortem.
