Rahul's oath by holding up copy of Indian constitution; opposition with Bharat Jodo slogan; video
NEW DELHI: Congress leader and Raebareli MP Rahul Gandhi took oath in the Lok Sabha. He came to the dais to take the oath holding up a small copy of the Constitution. Rahul was received by the opposition members with applause. Holding up the copy of the Constitution, Rahul took the oath in English.
The opposition came out chanting the Bharat Jodo slogan. Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi came to the visitor's gallery to see Rahul Gandhi's oath-taking ceremony. Rahul Gandhi was the 33rd MP to take oath.

Rahul Gandhi contested the Lok Sabha elections in two constituencies, Raebareli and Wayanad. Rahul won by 3,90,030 votes in Raebareli and 3,64,422 votes in Wayanad.
Rahul vacated the Wayanad constituency to focus on North India. The Protem Speaker had informed that Rahul Gandhi's resignation had been accepted. The Congress had also announced that Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi will contest in the Wayanad by-elections.
