MALAPPURAM: The Muslim League has criticised the state government's action of appointing an inquiry commission to study the Plus One seat crisis in Malappuram. The League Malappuram District Committee said that the state government's action of appointing a new two-member commission to study the Plus One-seat crisis in Malappuram was an unnecessary step. The League also alleged that this action was an insult to the district.

According to the District Committee of the Muslim League, there is no point in appointing inquiry commissions by including officials who have been submitting misleading figures to the government. It also demanded that the recommendations submitted by the earlier-appointed Karthikeyan Committee should be implemented.

'Earlier, a three-member Karthikeyan Committee was appointed to study the same issue and a very detailed report was submitted to the government. However, the government did not examine or consider this report. If it is implemented, the problems of Malappuram will be solved,' Malappuram Muslim League District Committee said in a statement.
