NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday recorded the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the Excise policy scam case. The CBI recorded Kejriwal's arrest after questioning him at the Tihar Jail. The CBI's unexpected move comes at a time when the Supreme Court is about to hear the petition challenging the cancellation of Kejriwal's bail on Wednesday. As the arrest has been recorded, Kejriwal will be produced in the CBI court on Wednesday.

Kejriwal is currently in jail after his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case related to the now-scrapped excise policy.

Reacting to the reports, AAP Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh termed it a conspiracy by the CBI to prevent Kejriwal's release from jail.
