One dies, many injured in bus-lorry collision at Anchal in Kollam

KOLLAM: One person was killed and 14 sustained injuries after a KSRTC bus and a lorry collided on Anchal-Ayoor route. The dead is Shibu (37), the lorry driver and a native of Veliyam. The accident happened near the ice plant at Kaipally Mukku on Anchal-Ayoor route.
The KSRTC fast passenger bus proceeding towards Thiruvananthapuram from Mallappally collided with the lorry going to Anchal from Ayoor with rubber saplings. The front portion of the lorry was completely damaged in the impact.
Though the seriously injured lorry driver was taken to the hospital, his life could not be saved. The locals and the passengers engaged in the rescue operations. Another person who was in the lorry sustained serious injuries.
