Indian hits jackpot in UAE, wins 8 crores in Dubai duty free draw

ABU DHABI: An Indian won $1 million in Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw. Khaliq Naik Muhammad, an engineer and instructor living in Abu Dhabi, became a millionaire in a single day. He bought the ticket online on June 13. His ticket number is 3813 and he will get Rs 8,34,43,000 as prize.


Khaliq has been living in Abu Dhabi since 2012. He has been participating in Dubai Duty Free's draw for the past four years. Khaliq, a father of three children is from Hyderabad and works at Khalifa University. The draw was held on Wednesday at Terminal-2 of the Dubai International Airport.


'It was really shocking. Thanks for Dubai Duty Free Draw. You have changed the lives of so many people. Thank you for being one of them. The money obtained will be used for our children's education and family’s future and will also do some charity,' said Khaliq Naik Muhammad.


Many prizes were awarded to the lucky participants of Dubai Duty Free draw. Rajasekaran Samaresan, an Indian living in UAE, won a BMW R 1250 RS (White/Blue/Red Metallic) motorbike. He got the prize for ticket number 1139 bought online.


Nazeer E (44), a Pakistani resident of Dubai won a Mercedes-Benz S500 (Graphite Grey) car. He bought the ticket 1137online on June 7. This is not the first time Nazeer, settled in Dubai for 20 years, has received the prize. He won a BMW F 900 XR (Black Storm Metallic) bike in 2022. He is working in a logistics company.
