CHENNAI: Actor Vijay said that more educated people should come into politics in Tamil Nadu. The actor, fondly called Thalapathy by fans, also clarified his stance on his political entry at the function to honour the students. He criticized the political leadership of the state in harsh language.

"You have to work hard for whatever field you want to succeed in. Tamil Nadu now needs not just good doctors, engineers and lawyers, but also good leaders. Well-educated youth should enter politics," Vijay said.

"The new generation should go forward by understanding right and wrong. Don't believe everything that you see on social media. We must recognize the false propaganda put forward by some political parties. You should choose the best leader by understanding the right and wrong," he added.

The actor, who lashed out at the drug mafia, also made the students pledge that they would stay away from temporary pleasures and intoxicants.
