KANNUR: Kannur CPM is reeling from the exit of district committee member Manu Thomas who alleged that he did not get justice in his fight against the gold smuggling-quotation nexus. While the district committee was trying to justify Manu Thomas' exit by explaining that his membership was not renewed, state committee member P Jayarajan came forward against Manu Thomas. With this, the fight changed to pulling out the buried quotation relationships.

P Jayarajan alleged that Manu had business connections and was trying to become a saint. Manu Thomas replied that Jayarajan was the one who tried to create a group in the party. A criminal gang including Quotation gang leader Akash Thillankeri raised death threats against Manu Thomas for criticizing Jayarajan. Subsequently, Manu Thomas raised the allegation that Jayarajan's son was the coordinator of the Quotation groups.

The case of gold snatching in Kozhikode Ramanatukara in 2021 which led to the death of five people has again come into discussion with this. Party cyber warriors Akash Tillankeri and Arjun Ayanki were disowned by the CPM after information emerged that they were behind this criminal activity. Manu Thomas had alleged that CPM district committee member M Shajar was involved in protecting the gold smuggling group, but the investigation commission found that the allegations were baseless. Manu Thomas then filed a complaint with the state secretary, but Manu did not renew his membership since he did not receive justice.

P Jayarajan in defensive

Manu Thomas destroyed Jayarajan's image as a selfless and communist leader. Manu Thomas has raised allegations that P Jayarajan is the protector of the Quotation group and that P Jayarajan and his son have extensive business connections in Kerala and the Gulf. The aim is to destroy the image of PJ, which was built with the help of cyber warriors. There are also indications that Manu Thomas is getting the support of top leaders. There has been a demand for action against the accused P Jayarajan within the party.

Rejected cyber team is back

CPM leader MV Jayarajan had publicly come out against social media pages including Porali Shaji during the election defeat of CPM. MV Jayarajan had alleged that some people are working for the Congress on social media in exchange for money. However, now the same pages have come out for P Jayarajan and against Manu Thomas who put the party on the defensive.
