Excise seizes arrack and ganja in two separate raids in Ernakulam, three arrested

KOCHI: Excise seized arrack and koda (raw, non-distilled spirit) from a house during night patrol in Angamaly town area. The accused, Varghese, a native of Angamaly, was arrested. He had 32 litres of arrack and 430 litres of wash in his possession. The search party led by Aluva Excise Circle Inspector Abhi Das included Assistant Excise Inspector Babu Prasad, Assistant Excise Inspector Grades Gopi PK, Shaiju VS, Preventive Officer Suresh Babu PN, Preventive Officer Grade Jomon KU, Civil Excise Officers Jibinas, Salmanul Faris, Civil Excise Officer Neethu PU, driver Shihabuddin and Samanju.

In another tip-off received by the Central Region Commissioner Squad, 3 kg of ganja was seized in Ernakulam. Ernakulam Excise Circle Inspector MS Janeesh and his party arrested Sarath Naik, a native of Odisha, with ganja from Cheranallur's Vaduthala area. Squad members Excise Inspector Pramod, Assistant Excise Inspector Ajayakumar, Preventive Officer Jayakumar, Civil Excise Officers Siddharth, Anoop, Ishal, Sarath, Woman Civil Excise Officer Jijimol and Civil Excise Officer driver Deepak attended the raid.
