THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary MV Govindan has reacted against the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) action of confiscating the party's assets in connection with the Karuvannur fraud case. Govindan said that the party would go ahead with a legal battle against the ED's action.

"On what basis did the ED confiscate the party's assets? Wrong actions won't be tolerated. We will go ahead with a legal battle against the ED," he said.

"Both the ED and IT Department are playing against the party using a single digit on the PAN card. Thousands of CPM branches and area committees have their own land and buildings. No matter which branch buys the land, the registration will be done in the name of the district secretary. We cannot accept the wrong stand taken by the central agency. An attempt is being made to hunt down the CPM by turning those expelled by the party in the Karuvannur case into approvers," Govindan said.
