NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday issued a new directive to NDA MPs, minding the controversial maiden Lok Sabha speech by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. PM Modi has directed NDA MPs to adeptly follow parliament rules, and be principled while engaging in debate. He was addressing the NDA Parliamentary meeting attended by top party leaders and ministers.

Assuming office as the Prime Minister for the third time, this was PM Modi’s first meeting with ministers and senior MPs of NDA.

'He gave us an important message and reminded us that it was for serving the nation that we are here in this temple of democracy. PM Modi also warned the MPs to not emulate Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's style inside parliament. He asked everyone to follow the rules of the parliament.” Said Kiren Rijiju after attending the meeting.

On Monday, Rahul Gandhi’s maiden speech in the Lok Sabha was expunged for including matters related to religion, mostly Hinduism. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi stood firm with his remarks and accused the BJP MPs of misleading the public.
