KOYILANDY: An SFI leader on Tuesday threatened that Dr Sunil Bhaskaran, principal of Gurudeva College, Koyilandy, would not enter the college campus by walking on two legs. It was an area leader of SFI who made the threat during the march led by the SFI Area Committee to the college on Tuesday.

The other day, the SFI activists had beaten up Principal Sunil Bhaskaran and Staff Secretary KP Ramesan during a dispute over setting up a help desk related to four-year degree course admissions in the college. SFI also complained that SFI area president Abhinav was beaten up by the principal and staff secretary. SFI organised the march on Tuesday demanding action against the principal and staff secretary in the incident.

Principal Sunil Bhaskar said that this was the first time he had such an experience in 25 years of his teaching career. "I cannot work in an atmosphere of fear and intimidation. I'm now taking rest at home as per the doctor's advice because of the swelling and pain in my hands due to yesterday's beating. Staff secretary Rameshan and I were attacked by those who came from outside," Sunil Bhaskar said.
