MANNAR: The arrest of the accused involved in the murder of a woman who went missing 15 years ago in Mannar, has been recorded. The woman was murdered by a team including her husband and the body was later dumped in the septic tank. The dead is Kala, daughter of Chellappan of Chennithala Payikkat Meenathethil and Chandrika. She was 20 years when she went missing. She was wife of Anil Kumar of Chennithala Iramathur Kizhakku Kannambil. Anil is the first accused. His brother-in-law Somarajan, relatives Jinu Gopi and Pramod are the other accused.

The FIR in Kala murder case has surfaced. The FIR said all the four accused murdered her in the car and then dumped the body in the septic tank. The FIR also mentioned that she was murdered on suspicion of having extra marital affairs.

The murder was committed near the Perumbuzha bridge in 2009. In the meanwhile, one of Anil’s relative Suresh told police that he had seen the body of Kala in the car near the Perumpuzha bridge. Anil had sought Suresh’s help to bury her body. However, he was not ready for it.

Meantime, Soman who took the remains of the body from the septic tank said that chemicals were used to destroy her body parts. The cement and the damaged tiles left after the construction of Anil’s house were dumped on top of the septic tank. Normally it is not done on top of a septic tank. Chemicals capable of pulverizing stone were used in the tank. Soman said that though parts of the bone were found, it was in a decaying state.
