Samantha to play female lead in Thalapathy 69? actress set to make comeback in Tamil after two years

A recent report has claimed that actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu will play the female lead in Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming film to be directed by H Vinoth. The film, tentatively titled 'Thalapathy 69', is expected to go on floors later this year.

Both Vijay and Samantha have acted together in several superhit films such as 'Kaththi', 'Theri' and 'Mersal'. It is said that the shooting of the film will begin by October end or the beginning of November.

Samantha has been away from Tamil cinema for the last two years. Her last Tamil movie was 'Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal' in which she acted alongside Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara.

Anirudh Ravichander will be composing the songs of 'Thalapathy 69'. The film will be produced by KVN Studios. Earlier, Vijay had announced that he would quit cinema after completing this film.
