'Reels video was shot on Sunday,'; Municipality employees respond to show cause notice

THIRUVALLA: With the reel filmed inside the office premises of the Thiruvalla Municipality sparking controversy, the staff of the Municipality have come up with an explanation regarding the incident. In the explanation handed over to the Senior Superintendent, the employees stated that the video was filmed on Sunday. The employees reported for duty on Sunday as part of the disaster relief effort as per the special instructions of the Collector. The employees also stated that the reel was filmed during lunch break on Sunday.

The Municipal Secretary said that further actions would be taken in the incident after consulting the higher officials of the Urban Affairs Department. The Municipal Secretary had earlier issued a show-cause notice to nine employees stating that filming reels during office hours was a breach of discipline.

The video showing the Municipality staff performing office duties in the backdrop of the song 'Poove Poove Paalappoove' from the film 'Devadoothan' had gone viral on social media.
