Kin awarded 120 years’ jail for impregnating minor girl; man sentenced to 96 years for abusing son

MALAPPURAM: The court sentenced a man to 120 years of jail in the case of impregnating a minor girl. The accussed is a relative of the child. The incident happened at Kondotty in Malappuram. The Manjeri Special POCSO Court pronounced the verdict.

Meanwhile, a man was awarded 96-years rigorous imprisonment for sexually abusing his son. The Manjeri Special POCSO court sentenced the 42-year-old man of Koothuparambu in Kannur for sexually abusing his son. Apart from the imprisonment, a fine of Rs 8.11 lakh was also imposed. The court directed to pay the fine amount to the child.

The accused lived with his family in Vettilapara. The incident happened in April 2022. He sexually abused his son when his wife went for work. He also threatened his son that if he discloses it to anybody, he would be killed. When his wife returned from work, she saw her son lying in bed in a weak condition. When enquired, he disclosed the whole incident to her. He told her that he has been abusing him for months.
