Malayalam cinema's masterpiece coming back to theatres; release date is out

'Manichitrathazhu', one of the all-time classics of Malayalam cinema, is all set to release in theatres again. Matinee Now and E4 Entertainment will bring the film to the theatres on August 17 as the biggest re-release in Mollywood.

'Manichitrathazhu', directed by Fazil, was originally released in theatres in 1993. The film had a stellar cast including Mohanlal, Shobana, Suresh Gopi, Nedumudi Venu, Thilakan, Innocent, KPAC Lalitha, Sudheesh, Kuthiravattom Pappu and Ganesh Kumar. The film is widely regarded as a masterpiece that continues to amaze the generations even today. The film has been remastered in 4K atmos with the help of cutting-edge technologies, promising Malayalam moviegoers a memorable experience in theatres.

The psychological mystery thriller was written by veteran writer Madhu Muttam. Shobhana, who portrayed the main character of Ganga in the film had won several awards, including the National Award for Best Actress, for her stunning performance. The film also won the National and State Awards for Best Popular Film in 1993.
