‘Kalki 2898AD’ has touched the milestone number of Rs 1000 crore in the overall box office collection and it is party time for the crew members. Not everyone likes a party, that comes without any fireworks. Kalki director Nag Ashwin is certain not to kill the joy of the celebrations and through a cryptic Instagram post, he has added the necessary fireworks before the party.

This post has now stirred a debate.

Instagram story:

"This milestone, this number is massive for a young team like ours...but the fact that we achieved it without blood, gore, obscenity, provocative, or exploitative content, means so much."

"A big thank you to the audience and the actors who stood behind us."

It would be rare for hardcore followers of Telugu cinema to miss the sly dig made by Nag Ashwin. It is said that Ashwin directed the comments at Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the director of hit movies including Animal. Vanga is praised and criticized for his filmmaking style that delves deep into bloodshed, roguery and plain portrayal of physical intimacies in their truest form.

However, the dig from Ashwin has led to a debate on social media space, with many backing Vanga for his success, since the director managed to gross Rs 917 core with just a quotidian love story (Animal), bereft of any VFX, mythological shades or any star cast.

Update: The Instagram story from Nag Ashwin has been removed.
