Major reshuffle of district collectors in Kerala; new collectors for Thiruvananthapuram, Idukki and Kottayam districts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has ordered the transfer of three district collectors in Kerala. Thiruvananthapuram District Collector Geromic George has been transferred as Director of Backward Classes Development Department. IT Mission Director Anukumari will be the Thiruvananthapuram District Collector. The action is also in the context of the High Court's criticism of the death of cleaning worker Joy in the Amayizhanchan Canal.

Idukki District Collector Sheeba George has been appointed as Additional Secretary of the Revenue Department. The current Kottayam District Collector V Vigneswari will be the Collector of Idukki. Backward Classes Development Corporation Director John V. Samuel is the new Kottayam Collector.

Sriram Venkataraman has been appointed as the Joint Secretary of Finance Department and Officer on Special Duty. Sriram Venkataraman was not replaced after he was removed as Supplyco CMD. Sriram's wife Renu Raj was earlier transferred from the post of Wayanad Collector and appointed as Director of the Scheduled Tribes Department. Sheeba George and Anukumari will continue to hold the additional responsibilities they currently hold.
