Kerala to receive heavy rainfall and strong wind in coming hours; alert issued in hilly areas
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that all districts in Kerala are likely to receive heavy rainfall and strong winds in the coming hours. According to radar data, westerly winds have a maximum speed of 75 kmph along the Kerala coast. IMD also said that special caution should be exercised in the hilly areas.
Meanwhile, traffic was disrupted on the Kollam-Dindigul National Highway 183 after a huge tree fell on the road near Kanjikkuzhi Junction in Kottayam. The tree fell near the Kanjikkuzhi Housing Board office at around 7:30 pm. An accident was averted as there was less traffic on the road and no people in the area.
