'Such interactions should definitely be avoided in a public forum. It is a bad thing to show the discrimination in the name of art among people,' noted actress and singer Manjuvani Bhagyaratnam on social media that the disgraced person here is not Asif, but Ramesh.

Asif Ali was invited to present the award to Ramesh Narayanan who participated in the trailer launch event. But Ramesh, who received the award from Asif Ali, called director Jayaraj and handed it over. Later Jayaraj gave the award to Ramesh Narayan. The protest started when the video of the incident went viral on social media.
