Actor Dulquer Salmaan's words from an interview a while back are getting widely discussed on social media. The actor, in an interview as part of the promotion for R Balki's 'Chup' said that there is a group of people who tag him as Mammootty's son and attack any movie he does in Malayalam. He said he is proud to be Mammootty's son but does not always desire that epithet.

"I love to be recognized as Dulquer Salmaan even though I am Mammootty's son. No matter how hard I try to change the tag of being Mammootty's son, some people will not allow it. That might be their agenda. I don't know what it is.

When I perform well in Tamil or Telugu and the audience there likes me, the same group will come and attack me there too. They will not even consider that I am from their state. I don't understand why they are hounding me when others love me. These are the reasons why I mostly want to work in other languages. Being tagged as Mammootty's son is much less there. I am known as Dulquer while acting in other languages," he said.

"I am very proud to be Mammootty's son. But I don't want to be known by that tag for the rest of my life. Some recognize what I am. I don't want to by my family's name and do films that way,' he added.
