Before Ramesh Narayan-Asif Ali row, similar incident involving Nayanthara and Allu Arjun sparked controversy, watch it here

Recently, musician Ramesh Narayan courted controversy after he didn't accept an award from actor Asif Ali. A similar incident has happened before as well when Nayanthara was hesitant to accept an award from Allu Arjun. Amid the Ramesh Narayan controversy, a video of Nayanthara not being ready to accept the award from Allu Arjun has gone viral on social media once again.

The said incident took place during the SIIMA award ceremony in 2018. Nayanthara won the best actress award for her performance in the film 'Naanum Rowdy Thaan'. Allu Arjun was called on stage to present the award to Nayanthara. On receiving the award Nayanthara, gave it back and openly said she would like to receive it again from the film's director Vignesh Shivan, whom she married later.

Allu Arjun then handed over the award to Vignesh Shivan who presented it to Nayanthara.

The incident sparked major controversy and Nayanthara had to bear the brunt of Allu Arjun fans' wrath on social media. Although this incident took place years ago, it has created a huge rift between the two actors. As per rumours, when Nayanthara was considered as the female lead in many of Allu Arjun's films, he replaced her with different actresses.
