WASHINGTON: "It's been four years since I came to Kerala. It's not because I don't want to. The first thing that stopped me was Covid. Covid took more than two years. Then there were different reasons. The smell of Kerala... no the fragrance... I want to take it in".

Malayalam's Celestial Singer KJ Yesudas told Kerala Kaumudi from his home in Dallas.

"I am thinking of coming home at the end of this month or at the beginning of August. I prepared many times. I hope everything will go well this time.

I could not be home for my eightieth birthday. Even though Prabha and I did not come, the Malayalees made everything grand. I can't express the joy that love gave me. I think that if everything comes together, I want to sing a new song when I come home.

All the close people back home are asking me to come. When asked if there were any plans for Swaralaya Gandharva Sandhya, I replied that everything would happen as per the blessings of the Lord. I am updated on everything happening back home. Even though I am here, my mind is in Kerala - Yesudas said.
