Anu Kumari takes charge as Thiruvananthapuram collector

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: IAS Anu Kumari assumed charge as district collector of Thiruvananthapuram on Monday. Former District Collector Geromic George handed over the charge to the new Collector. Anu Kumari was hitherto the Kerala State IT Mission Director.

The new district collector of Thiruvananthapuram in her response to the media said she would prioritise welfare and development activities of the government in the district. Anu Kumari also assured about giving importance to sectors like education, social justice, and tourism; taking all the necessary cooperation from people’s representatives and officials.

Anu Kumari is a 2018 batch civil service officer from Haryana. She started her administrative career as an Assistant Collector in Thiruvananthapuram district. She then served as Sub-Collector of Thalassery and in 2022 as District Development Commissioner of Thiruvananthapuram. Anu Kumari holds a degree in Physics from Delhi University and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from IMT Nagpur.

Anu Kumari is married to Varun Dahiya, a businessman from Delhi. Vian Dahiya, studying in sixth standard is their son.
