Human Rights Commission chairperson: Governor approves appointment of Justice Alexander Thomas

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has approved the recommendation to appoint former Kerala High Court Acting Chief Justice, Justice Alexander Thomas as the chairperson of the Kerala State Human Rights Commission.

Justice Alexander Thomas's name was unanimously handed over to the Governor by a high-level committee comprising the Chief Minister, Speaker and Leader of the Opposition.

Justice Alexander Thomas, who served as a judge in the Kerala High Court from 23 January 2014 to 4 September 2023, became the Acting Chief Justice in July 2023. Since 2007, he has been the standing counsel of PSC, Railways, Dental Council of India and Medical Council of India.
