Changanassery native cricket umpire makes ICC debut

CHANGANASSERY: Puzhavathu native Rajesh Pillai debuted as an umpire in an international cricket match. Rajesh managed the first international match between Kenya and Nigeria on the 16th of this month.

Rajesh has been working in the telecom sector for 28 years in almost 15 countries. In every country he worked, Rajesh remained active in cricket. He has also regulated domestic cricket matches in India, the UK, Thailand, South Africa, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania.

Son of Rabindranath Pillai and Lata Pillai, Rajesh hails from 'Ranjini Veetil' near Puzhavathu Kottaram temple.

Rajesh's wife is Anita. Children: Aditya Pillai, and Medha Parvathi.
