Actor Joy Mathew has commended the Muslim League for launching an app to raise funds for the rehabilitation of Mundakkai residents, who were severely affected by the Wayanad landslides. He highlighted the importance of transparency in relief fund management, both for donors and recipients.

Joy Mathew stated, "Relief funds are supposed to provide relief to the distressed. Both those who give to it and those who receive from it should ensure its transparency. In today's time, things can be done digitally and Muslim League has done it well, proving that they are with the times."

He praised the 'For Wayanad' app for its transparent approach to fund collection, mentioning that he learned about it through a video by YouTuber Rajan Joseph. "Transparency is what we need; so through this app, I am also contributing what I can," he added.

The app was launched two days ago by Muslim League state president Syed Sadiqali Shihab Thangal and P K Kunhalikutty. During the inauguration, Thangal emphasized the digital nature of the fundraising effort and appealed for widespread support. Within 48 hours, the initiative garnered donations amounting to five and a quarter crores of rupees.

‘Muslim League is preparing a comprehensive plan for rehabilitation including housing, education, treatment and employment. A large sum of money is required for this. So everyone should stand by this project,' said Sadiqali Thangal. He also stated that it has been decided to collect funds from August 2 to 15.
