Porter dies as lift collapses during work 

KOCHI: In a tragic incident, a porter died after a service lift collapsed in a private building at Unichira in Thrikkakkara. The deceased has been identified as Unichira native Nazir (42). The accident occurred in the warehouse of a computer hardware company at around 4 pm on Wednesday.

The accident took place while the porters were loading the goods to the third floor of the building through the service lift. Nazir was standing under the service lift when the wire broke and the lift collapsed. Although Nazir was quickly rushed to a hospital in Thrikkakkara, he soon succumbed to his injuries.
