PARIS: Accreditation of Indian wrestler Antim Panghal has been cancelled while she is also facing chances of deportation after trying to smuggle her sister inside the Olympic village. Antim tried illegally to bring her sister Nisha Panghal into the Olympic Village. Nisha was stopped by the Paris police while trying to enter the village using her sister’s card.

Both the sisters were later detained and interrogated. It is reported that the government with mutual consent with IOA will likely deport both of them to India upon completing the interrogation. The breach of discipline has been brought to the notice of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) by the French authorities. The IOA then decided to send Antim and her coaching staff back to India on immediate basis.

In the women's 53kg category, Antim lost to Turkey's Yetgil Zeynep in just 101 seconds on Wednesday. After the match, Antim asked her sister to visit the Olympic village and collect her belongings. This attempt to enter the village fell flat and police later took both of them into custody.
