LUCKNOW: In a shocking incident, a 14-year-old girl, who was sexually assaulted by her teacher, died in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. The girl, a native of Sonbhadra, died while undergoing treatment. She had been undergoing treatment at the Banaras Hindu University Hospital for the last 20 days. The incident took place in December last year.

The girl's family alleged that she was sexually assaulted by a sports teacher named Vishwambar. In their complaint, the family alleged that the teacher took the child to his home and sexually assaulted her. The girl did not disclose the incident to anyone for fear of embarrassment. However, her mental health became worse. Following this, the family took the girl to a relative's home in Chhattisgarh and made her undergo treatment there. In the meantime, the child disclosed the incident to her relative.

The family alleged that Vishwambhar had offered them Rs 30,000 to keep silent about the incident. However, as the child's health became worse, the girl's father lodged a complaint with the police on July 10. With this, the police registered a case and booked Vishwambhar under the POCSO Act. Vishwambhar is currently on the run. The police said that they have intensified the search to find him.
