Youth dies after AC unit falls on him, friend in serious condition

NEW DELHI: An 18-year-old youth died after the outdoor unit of an AC fell on his head. The accident happened Saturday evening at Karol Bagh area in New Delhi. The dead has been identified as Jitesh Chaddha. His friend sustained serious injuries. The visuals of the accident have surfaced.

The accident happened when they were standing at the entrance of a big building. A video that surfaced shows Jitesh talking to his friend near a two-wheeler. The outdoor AC unit suddenly fell on them. It fell straight on Jitesh’s head and his friend also sustained injuries. The two collapsed immediately and another had a narrow escape.

The two were immediately rushed to the hospital, but the life of Jitesh could not be saved. His friend, a 17-year-old boy is in a very serious condition. A case has been registered at the local police station on Desh Bandhu Road. The forensic team have reached the spot to examine the reason for the unit to fall. The police said more investigation is being conducted.
