MALAPPURAM: P V Anwar MLA said this is not a government that quenches thirst by intaking saliva. A quota has been fixed for the police in petty cases, alleged the MLA while speaking at the meeting of Malappuram District Police Association.

The MLA also severely criticized S P Sasidharan for arriving late at the function. ‘The SP came late to participate in this event. We had to wait a long time for the SP. He is a busy person. If that's the reason for the delay, then that's fine. If he had thought of making the MLA sit there for some time, the SP should think. There is difficulty in saying this. I have to say this, no other way. If the police are not ready for changes, the people will intervene,' said the MLA.

Some police officers work for selfish interests. They are doing research on it. The MLA also accused the police for trying to stain the government.

The MLA complained that there was no investigation even after some things went missing from his park. The accused could not be caught even after eight months. He added that someone was called and given tea.

The SP came as the keynote speaker for the event. However, after MLA's criticism, he left the stage saying that he was a bit busy and not in the right mood to deliver a speech.
