THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Several men testified that sexual exploitation is not only in films but in other fields also. However, women said this is rampant in films. If chances are sought in films, then demand for sex will arise. Many testified that there is no sexual exploitation to get a job in any other fields. Proficiency in other fields should be proved in interview and test. The situation is not that in the film industry.

Sex is not a precondition for any other job. There is no casting couch in any other field. The situation is that someone from home should accompany us for work for not being safe. No other profession is like this.

A lot of criminal activities take place on the sets, and women in the film industry suffer all this silently. They remain mum fearing the serious consequences if complained.

Many people testified of life threats if complained. Not only the victims but also their families will face life threat. The consequences are unpredictable. Being a celebrity, will be tarnished and ridiculed on social media. Will be subjected to cyber-attacks on social media, the next day of lodging the complaint. Actresses are insulted in very bad language on social media. Will circulate sexual pictures and dirty comments. Complaining is dangerous because most of the exploiters are very influential.

There are reports of a light boy being sacked for not standing up seeing a superstar and banned for speaking against another star.
