Salary of Rs 4,000 per hour for wearing VR headset; chance to train Optimus from company that made Bumblebee
AUSTIN: Elon Musk's Tesla has offered huge rewards to those who can teach robots to walk like a human. Tesla is looking for people to teach humanoids, which the scientific world believes will replace humans in technology, to walk like humans.
Humanoid robots named Optimus are to be trained while wearing motion capture suits and virtual reality headsets. According to a report by Business Insider, Tesla has recruited 50 people as data collection operators, as part of this. For this particular job, the company needs candidates between 5 feet 7 inches tall and 5 feet 11 inches tall. They must be willing to wear a VR headset for extended periods of time and must be able to walk 7+ hours a day while carrying up to 30 pounds (about 15 kilograms) weight as part of data collection. Tesla's salary ranges from Rs 2,000 to Rs 4,000 per hour.
Elon Musk stated at Tesla Company's AI Day in 2021 that he is developing humanoids. The first version of this humanoid which was named Bumblebee was released the next year. This humanoid has the ability to walk and wave at people. Tesla says that this humanoid can pick up boxes and carry them to another location. Tesla announced earlier this year that two robots are already in use at its factory. It is believed that the production of this humanoid will increase by 2026.
