Search for Arjun resumes; sonar inspection conducted in Gangavali river, leaders and Arjun's family to meet Karnataka CM

BENGALURU: The search for Arjun, the Malayali lorry driver who went missing in Shirur, has resumed. A sonar inspection was conducted again at the marked location in the Gangavali River. The inspection was carried out to determine if the location of the lorry had changed. The Navy also inspected the river's underwater currents. The current underwater current in the Gangavali River, where Arjun's lorry is believed to be, is four knots.

Meanwhile, leaders in Kerala are planning to meet the Karnataka Chief Minister with a demand to start dredging as part of the search operation to find Arjun. It is said that MP MK Raghavan, MLA MKM Ashraf, Arjun's relatives, and Karwar MLA Satish Sail will meet the Chief Minister. They will meet the Chief Minister on August 28. The leaders are demanding that the search operation be resumed by bringing in a dredging machine. Earlier, the Uttara Kannada District Collector had written to the Principal Secretary stating that it would cost Rs 96 lakh to bring in a dredger.

Kannadikkal native Arjun went missing in a landslide in Karnataka on the 16th of last month. Apart from Arjun, two others from Karnataka, Lokesh and Jagannath, are also yet to be found.
