Youngster reported missing before wedding, found in Ooty
MALAPPURAM: Malappuram native Vishnujith, who went missing just four days before his wedding, has been found in Ooty in Tamil Nadu. Vishnu is currently with the Malappuram police team. The SP stated that Vishnujith's phone was turned on once yesterday, which turned vital and helped police locate the youngster.
When Vishnu’s sister tried to call him on Monday, the call was answered but no voice came from the other side. Very shortly, the call got disconnected. It was last Sunday that Vishnu’s marriage was scheduled to take place with his girlfriend of eight years. However, just four days before the wedding, Vishnu went missing.
On Wednesday at 7.45 pm, the police received the CCTV footage of him boarding the Coimbatore bus from Palakkad KSRTC bus stand. Malappuram, Walayar and Kasaba police are jointly investigating the case. The help of Tamil Nadu police was also sought.
Vishnujith left home after telling his family that he would return shortly. He even gave vague information about the need to visit Palakkad to arrange money for the wedding. Vishnu is an employee of Kanjikode Ice Company.
Some days back Vishnu called his mother around 8.30 pm to say that he arranged the money and would soon return home. After this phone call, Vishnu switched off his mobile phone and was untraceable. Suspicion grew within the family and soon a police complaint was filed.
