Actress files sexual harassment complaint against Balachandra Menon
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An actress from Aluva has lodged a sexual harassment complaint against actor-director Balachandra Menon with the Special Investigation Team. The complaint alleges that she was sexually assaulted in a hotel room in January 2007 during the shooting of the film ‘De Ingottu Nokkiye’.
The actress claims that she did not report the incident earlier due to threats made by Menon. In her complaint, she states that she was assaulted multiple times at the film's location. At the time, she was living in Dubai and had been invited to portray the role of chief secretary in the film.
The actress recounts that after Balachandra Menon's birthday celebration, he summoned her to his hotel room. Upset by his behaviour, she initially left but was called back the next day. Upon entering the room, she found three women and three men present, yet she still had an uncomfortable experience and chose to leave again.
According to the complaint, Balachandra Menon later confronted her in her room, threatening her if she did not agree to act in the film. The actress said in the complaint that she acted in the movie out of fear. This complaint adds to an ongoing series of allegations, as the actress has also filed complaints against seven other people, including actor Mukesh.
