'Iron Man' Tejasvi Surya; Bengaluru South MP completes world's most difficult sporting event
NEW DELHI: BJP MP Tejasvi Surya completed the ‘Iron Man' competition, one of the toughest sports tests in the world. The 'Iron Man' event consists of 1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km running.
33-year-old Tejasvi participated in the competition held in Goa. This is the first time a Member of Parliament is participating in the 'Iron Man' competition. Tejasvi, the MP from Bengaluru South constituency, is considered a prodigy in the Sangh clan.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Fit India' campaign inspired me to achieve this target,” said Tejasvi.
"Commendable feat! I am sure this will inspire many more youngsters to pursue fitness-related activities". PM Modi responded to Tejasvi's win.
The Bengaluru south MP has been rigorously preparing to take part in the event for the last four months.
"As a finisher in this daunting challenge, I can attest to the young folks that fitness goals push your boundaries, and make you a better individual. I appeal to all fence sitters and perpetual planners to hop onto this journey and make progress," said Tejasvi.
