"More acrimony than matrimony"; famous internet personality's fake profile on Matrimony site; 'paid 1.5 lakhs, it's the biggest scam,' says another customer
NEW DELHI: A woman has lodged a serious complaint against the matrimonial site Bharat Matrimony. Swati Mukund, a blogger, has come forward with a complaint that her picture was used in a fake profile. A picture of Swati Mukund with another name appeared on Bharat Matrimony's elite subscription service.
Swati shared the video in the name of 'Bharat Matrimony scam'. Introducing her husband in the first part of the video, the woman said that she did not find her husband through Bharat Matrimony. She also shared a screenshot of the fake profile.
"What really appalled me is the fact that this is BharatMatrimony's elite subscription service, where they are actually charging people pots of money and they claim that they are screening and carefully curating profiles to make sure that their users find the right life partner on this app. How on earth are you doing it? Clearly, it's not working. This is an urge to all the users of this platform to make sure that you are exercising discretion before using any of these apps because obviously, what you see is not always what you always get," Swati warned in the video.
Soon after the video, many shared their harrowing experiences from the Bharat Matrimonial site. “I have used their elite matrimony paying 1.5 lakhs...it's the biggest scam. They give you the same few options over and over for one year," said a customer. Some even demanded that a case be filed.
