'Ye kaam chhod do bhai'; Cyber fraudster video calls cyber cell officer for scam; hilarious video shared on official police website gathering laughs
THRISSUR: A youth who tried to commit cyber fraud pretending to be an officer from the Mumbai Police has been busted. A man from Mumbai made a video call in a police uniform asking the person receiving the call to keep his camera straight. However, he didn't know that he was calling Thrissur police cyber cell SI Fisto TD. To the fraudster who was asking where the 'potential victim' was and that the camera should be kept straight, the SI quickly showed his face after telling him that the camera on his phone was not good.
The fake police officer was shocked to know that he was caught in front of the real police. The SI told the fraudster who tried to escape by saying Namaste that this was the Thrissur cyber cell and that the police had received the location and address of the fraudster. When the video of the incident was shared on the Insta account of Thrissur city police, many positive comments were received. The video has been posted with the caption" Kaduvaye pidicha Kiduva, ye kaam chhod do bhai..". Malayalees posted interesting comments in the post such as 'Ants raiding in the fireplace?, no match box, have fire instead."
Scammers will inform the victims through a call that there is a cyber complaint and soon a senior police officer will contact them through a video call. Fraudsters will then make a virtual arrest, collect bank details and extort money. That's how they cheat. The police have suggested that such calls should be ignored.
