K Sanjay Murthy appointed as CAG

NEW DELHI: Senior IAS officer K Sanjay Murthy has been appointed as the new CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General of India). Union Finance Ministry issued a notification in this regard after President Draupadi Murmu accepted the appointment. He is a 1989 batch Andhra Pradesh cadre IAS officer. He is currently serving as the Secretary of the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education. Murthy is set to replace incumbent CAG, Girish Chandra Murmu, who will retire on November 20.
