CHENNAI: The news of Oscar-winning musician AR Rahman's divorce came to light just a few days ago. His wife Saira Banu's lawyer announced the divorce through a press release. Later, Rahman and Saira confirmed the news.

Soon after the news of the divorce came out, defamatory remarks and false news against Rahman were circulated on social media. Rahman also sent a legal notice against the YouTube channels in this regard. Now Saira Banu has reacted to the false news against Rahman. In a voice message, Saira Banu requested to stop the false news against Rahman.

Saira says that Rahman has the best personality and the defamatory rumours are absurd. "He's a gem of a person, the best man in the world. He is not linked with me, I trust him with my life. That's how much I love him, and that's how much he does," Saira said. Saira also requested the media to leave Rahman alone. "I had to leave Chennai and shifted to Mumbai for health reasons. I'll be coming back to Chennai soon, but I have to complete my treatment," Saira added.

The couple said that their decision to divorce was due to "significant emotional strain" in their relationship.
