'Treated him like a coolie, shameful'; Beeyar Prasad’s wife turns against Santhivila Dinesh

Late lyricist, Beeyar Prasad’s wife Vidhu Prasad criticized film director Santhivila Dinesh in strong words for his disparaging YouTube video.

Vidhu Prasad:

“Just five days after the death of my husband, Dinesh uploaded a video on YouTube tarnishing Prasad. It was through friends that we got to know about it. People closely associated with Beeyar Prasad know how genial he is. But I too admit it, that he had one weakness; alcohol addiction. But, it never made him lose his manners. To hurt someone would be the last thing in his book.

Santhivila Dineshan’s shameless allegation is a ploy to attract more attention on social media. I clearly remember what Prasad told me after working on Dinesh’s movie 'Banglavil Outha’. Prasad told me about Dinesh’s poor demeanour and how he delayed payment.

For writing two songs, Prasad used to take just Rs 10,000. It was far less than what other writers used to pocket during those times. Prasad never craved for money. After the travel expense, what do you expect to remain from the meagre Rs 10,000? Dinesh is now alleging that Prasad demanded humungous money( Rs 10,000) for writing two songs. It is such a shameful statement to make.

Notwithstanding, Dinesh even mentally tortured Prasad to a large extent. He was treated like a coolie. Can someone regurgitate songs by following a strict command? It was only because of this torture that Prasad strictly asked for his remuneration. If treated with respect, Prasad would have never asked that.”
