Former Haryana CM Om Prakash Chautala passes away

NEW DELHI: Former Haryana Chief Minister and Indian National Lok Dal leader Om Prakash Chautala passed away. He was 89. He passed away at his residence in Gurugram. Chautala, a seven-time MLA, has been the Chief Minister of Haryana four times. He last served as the Chief Minister from 1999 to 2005. He is the son of former Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal.
He was born in January 1935. Chautala was convicted by the court in connection with a job scam. Following this, he had spent nine and a half years in Tihar Jail. Chautala was released from prison in 2020.
