No need to visit offices again and again; Panchayat services also to be made available through 'K-SMART' system

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The K-SMART system, which will provide online services from local bodies in cities without the needy going to the office, will be implemented in all panchayats from April. K-SMART will be implemented on a trial basis from January 1 in Thiruvananthapuram District Panchayat, Nedumangad Block Panchayat and Karakulam Gram Panchayat.

K-SMART addresses the shortcomings of ILGMS used in panchayats. Both softwares are developed by Information Kerala Mission.

Training for employees of 941 gram panchayats, 152 block panchayats and 14 district panchayats will begin in January. Minister MB Rajesh said that the system where all services can be completed online in a timely manner will be of great benefit to the public. K-SMART is being set up in Panchayats also after its successful implementation in Municipal Corporations from January 1 this year.

Hit in Municipal Corporations!

27.31 lakh files have been processed through K-SMART in Municipal Corporations since January 1. 20.37 lakh (74.6%) files have also been disposed of.

  • A comparison of file processing with the previous week can be made through the dashboard.
