‘Many questions, but Allu Arjun remained mum’; grilling completed

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Police grilled actor Allu Arjun in connection with the death of the woman in the stampede that broke out during the screening of Pushpa 2. The actor reached Chikkadpally station Tuesday morning at around 11 am. The police reached the actor’s home the other day and served him the notice.

The actor was reportedly asked questions such as whether he was aware of the police denying permission to attend the premiere? Who called you to attend the screening? Did the police inform you that there was a stampede outside when he reached the theater? When did you know about the woman’s death? However, the actor did not respond to the questions asked by the police even though he appeared for the grilling. The questioning has been completed.

The stampede broke out at the Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of Pushpa 2 on December 4. A woman died and her son was seriously injured in the stampede. The dead has been identified as Revathy (39) of Dilsukhnagar in Hyderabad. The Hyderabad Police had arrested Allu Arjun and members of the theatre management on charges of creating a stampede. Allu Arjun was arrested by the police on the evening of December 13. The actor was released on bail by the Telangana High Court the next day morning.
