Radha’s earrings, hair found in tiger’s stomach, animal died due to deep wounds on neck, postmortem completed

WAYANAD: The postmortem procedures of the man-eating tiger at Pancharakolly have been completed. The postmortem report said the tiger died following the four deep wounds found on its neck. The forest department confirmed that the death occurred at around 4 am Monday. The tiger will be cremated as per the procedures of the national tiger authority.

Chief Wildlife Warden Pramod G Krishnan told media that buttons of the shirt worn by Radha, her earrings and hair were recovered from the tiger's stomach. The man-eating tiger was injured in an encounter with another tiger in the inner forest the other day. Top officials have returned from Kuppadi after the postmortem.

The tiger first reached Moonu Road near Pilakavu at 12.30 am today. The task force led by Dr Arun Zakaria tried to capture the tiger after sedating it. Later, at around 2.30 am, the tiger was spotted again and the mission team tried to capture it. Meanwhile, the team found that the tiger was in a weak condition. It was later found dead in a land near a house.
